Dream Workshop with Filmmaker and Dream Researcher Saelyx Finna Hosted by Akron Soul Train and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens-Dreams Travel Wondrous Wires: The Superpower of Dreaming in the Seth Material

Akron Soul Train Artist-in-Residence Saelyx Finna will present a wonder-filled workshop exploring the potential of the dreaming mind on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. In this workshop, Saelyx Finna will guide participants through some of what the Seth books by Jane Roberts reveal about dreaming, and then actively explore some dream exercises together. Saelyx will also share "Dreams Travel Wondrous Wires," a five-minute film she co-created and produced as part of her residency at Akron Soul Train. The film was shot in the Victorian house where Jane Roberts wrote the Seth books, which was built not long before Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Please join Saelyx Finna for a night of conversation, curiosity, and the possibility of dreams.

From the Artist and Researcher Saelyx Finna
"Everybody dreams. Throughout history, entire civilizations revered dreaming as a means of communing with the gods, seeing the future, making art, and healing the body. Dreams have given us history-defining scientific breakthroughs and discoveries. Scientific research shows that without the movies our minds make every night, we would lose our emotional regulation and our grip on reality. We spend a third of our lives asleep, and many years dreaming.

If dreams grant us such gifts and sleep is the scaffolding of waking life, why do we place so little value on dreams today? If we started paying attention to our dreams again, what could change?

A series of books published by writer Jane Roberts in the 1970s-80s, collectively known as the Seth Material, offers some fascinating possible answers. Brimming with captivating ideas about the invaluable role of dreaming in our lives, the books are full of exercises that can help us tap back into this innate superpower. Participants will leave with dream exercises they can try at home, and expanded horizons about the multiverse of our dreaming minds!"
